An armed robbery was reported Tuesday night at the Mobil gas station on Route 58 in Riverhead, according to a Riverhead Town police press release.
Police responded at 10:44 p.m. and an employee said a man entered the gas station and pointed a handgun at him and demanded money, police said. A brief confrontation ensued and the suspect fled the store without any money toward Pulaski Street.
Police searched the area but did not locate the suspect. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 631-727-4500, ext. 327.
