The driver of a Land Rover escaped serious injury after a rollover crash on Route 25 in Calverton Tuesday night, according to Riverhead Town police.
The Land Rover was traveling westbound when a car traveling the opposite direction attempted to make a left turn. The driver of the Land Rover hit the brakes, causing the vehicle to roll over, police said.
The driver suffered a cut on her head and did not require transportation to a hospital, police said. A dog inside the vehicle was also OK.
The accident occurred between Timber Drive and where Route 25A begins. No other cars were involved.
The Wading River Fire Department responded to the scene. The road remained open as the scene was being cleared shortly before 8 p.m.
